Sarah Sanders responds to CNN refusal to join White House Christmas

CNN announced they will not be attending the White House Christmas party due to the uniquely aggressive posture that Trump's taken toward them.

Sanders responded through Twitter: "Christmas comes early! Finally, good news from @CNN"

Lol, rolf, etc.

This was sort of fun. I was enjoying CNN being triggered. Until I read through comments.

* Love Sarah ~ She learned well from her father (Mike Huckabee) -a wonderful chip off the old block.

Wait. No, what? Really? I read "Huckabee" before but took it as coincidental. And now knowing this ruins everything. Forevermore I will know she has her important position due in large part to nepotism. Like all of Washington is one big conglomeration of family run businesses.

Capable as she is, delightful as she is to observe, isn't there any other place in the nation where she could apply her package of skills and talent? It had to be Washington, it had to be association with high political office? No other business was possible?

That really, really, really, takes away from her success from my p.o.v. I hate that phenomena in Washington. Like Elizabeth Warren taking the place of an authentic Amerind, Sarah Sanders is taking the place of someone who is scrapping their way to the top. Chris Wallace is taking the place of someone whose dad is not Mike Wallace. Peter Doocy is taking the place of someone whose father isn't Steve Doocy and so on. All those young people across the nation, all those students striving to make their mark, all those exceedingly capable people fueled by ambitious drive blocked by people simply born to their family business connections in Washington. It's bad enough in private but still tolerable, but it's unacceptable in Washington. Don't we really want the best of the best drawn from the resources available throughout the entire nation and not just from the privileged few pulled from the talent pool in Washington? It's just wrong.

Now it's not possible to look at her the same way.

It's not just me thinking and feeling this.

Here, have a look behind one of Trump's tweets. Warning: it's ugly. On his own Twitter account Trump is bragging about the work of his daughter in India by retweeting something from State Department. And the people who respond are first so filled with blinding hatred, but that rage is not all that they're saying. The answer to them is, who else could Trump trust? Someone like you? She's not being paid. She's representing her father. While the fact remains that Ivanka Trump is taking the place of someone else from thousands of people across the nation with much more talent and ability than Ivanka Trump but with a lot less advantage. As much as I hate to admit this, as much as I like Ivanka Trump and respect her father, I'm forced to admit that these people fueled first by hatred really do have a good point. They're making my point.

When the country voted for Bill Clinton, they weren't side-voting for Hillary's political ambition, nor later did Hillary's two-for-one sales pitch sound attractive, nor did we vote for a Clinton political dynasty carried forward through Hillary's and Webb Hubble's daughter. When the country voted for Obama, the voters who lost resented Michelle's activity bearing on school lunches affecting public schools across the whole nation. Likewise, Democrats deeply resent Trump's relatives involvement in government. And I really don't care to see a Trump political dynasty develop from this, any more than I care to see Michell Obama run for office or Chelsea Clinton.

Agreed.

Tho - I don't have a problem with Sarah Huckabee Sanders. GOp press secretaries are treated like dirt by the fascist left. it's a high turn-over job made that way by the fascist left.

Trump's kids are smart, but most of the "involvement" has come from fake news trying to stir up something.

There is a rapid thinning of the liberal MSM herd. Matt Lauer and Garrison Keilor took head shots this morning! So far, NONE of the fallen men have surprised me when exposed to be predators.

Me neither, ndspinelli. Not even a, "oh you too?" More like, "what's taken so long?"

Sarah is a very capable woman in her own right. As proved by her answer to CNN.

She has been a great improvement.

I agree. She is a tough, smart, broad.

Huckabee always bugged me for some reason. He seemed like an earnest phony and, on closer examination, it turned out he was. I don't get that vibe from his daughter.
I admire her ability to irritate the press, make them crawl over glass, condescend momishly in response to their babyish tantrum tendencies and other overt hostility. JIM ACOSTA WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR?
heh heh. (The mind reels with the lack of possibilities.)
It's actually rather Trollumpian.
Also, she's a little weighty. A little. Not a criticism, just a fact. It happens, post-baby. And such a tempting target for supposedly supposedly woke and fat-conscious and holier-than-thou lefties. So tempting. They can't help themselves.

Sometimes it is pure nepotism, and sometimes it is the parents were good at their job and that rubbed off on their children. For example, Ken Griffey (Sr/Jr) and Tony Gwinn (Sr/Jr). The children certainly earned there positions. I think Sarah has shown her ability. Of course, there will always be those that claim "privileged". Usually the same people who don't like hearing about single parent homes.
